Best Laptops Under Rs 10,000 in India: What You Can Really Buy (November 2026)

Search for a new laptop under Rs 10,000 today and you will find plenty of lists but very few laptops. We checked Amazon.in and Flipkart on 7 November 2026, and neither had a new laptop at that price. Amazon's laptop category between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 showed only adapters and spare parts. Flipkart's cheapest new laptop was a Rs 18,200 Chromebook.

This article used to list six laptops under Rs 10,000. All six had 2GB of RAM, which is half of the 4GB Windows 11 requires. Those models are not worth buying now, so we replaced the list with what you can actually get.

This guide uses retail listings. We read the prices, specs and buyer ratings on 7 November 2026, and we have not tested these machines ourselves. Prices change often and stock runs out fast, so check the price on the day you buy.

The short answer

  • New laptop under Rs 10,000: we found none from either store.
  • Cheapest new Windows laptops: Rs 12,990, with 4GB of RAM and weak buyer ratings.
  • Best-rated cheap laptop: Primebook WiFi at Rs 14,990. It runs an Android-based system, not Windows.
  • Closest option to Rs 10,000: a Redmi Pad SE tablet at Rs 10,999, plus a keyboard for about Rs 800.
  • Refurbished: Cashify's cheapest listings we saw started at Rs 23,999. Be careful with anything far below that.

Cheapest new Windows laptops: Rs 12,990

Only these two run regular Windows programs at this price. Both use the Intel Celeron N4020, a dual-core chip that Intel launched in late 2019 and now lists as discontinued. Both have 4GB of RAM, the Windows 11 minimum. Expect them to handle browsing, documents and online classes, and to slow down with many tabs open.

Walker NU14A1

The Walker has the larger 14.1-inch Full HD IPS screen and 128GB of storage, which makes it the easier one to read and type on. Its rating is the weak point: 3.1 out of 5 from 248 buyers. Read the recent reviews before you order.

Neopticon EBook

The EBook has a smaller 11.6-inch HD screen, 128GB of eMMC storage and, according to the listing, a spare M.2 slot for adding an SSD later. It scores 3.3 out of 5 from 275 buyers. Neopticon also sells a 15.6-inch BrowseBook with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD for Rs 14,999. The specs look far better, but it scores only 1.7 out of 5 from 32 buyers, so we would avoid it.

Best-rated cheap laptop: Primebook WiFi, Rs 14,990

The Primebook WiFi (2026) has the best buyer rating here: 4.3 out of 5 from 429 ratings. It weighs 1kg, charges over USB-C, and has 64GB of storage that the listing says can be expanded up to 512GB.

The catch is the software. It runs PrimeOS, which is based on Android, so it uses Android apps and will not run Windows programs. It suits browsing, online classes and light documents. It does not suit a course or job that needs specific Windows software.

Chromebooks: Rs 16,400 and up

Chromebooks run ChromeOS and work mainly through a browser, so they also will not run regular Windows programs. Check that your school or office tools work online before you buy one.

The Acer Chromebook with a Celeron N4500 is the cheapest we found at Rs 16,400, but with only 16 ratings there is little buyer feedback. The Lenovo 100e Chromebook Gen 4 costs Rs 18,200 on Flipkart and has far more feedback, at 4 out of 5 from 4,015 ratings. Both have only 32GB of storage, so plan on keeping files online.

Deals here disappear quickly. A Lenovo Chromebook with 64GB of storage showed at Rs 14,990 on Flipkart with two units left on the morning we checked. It was gone by the time we checked again.

Closest to Rs 10,000: a tablet and a keyboard

If Rs 10,000 is a hard limit, a tablet is the most realistic option. It will not run Windows programs either, but it handles browsing, video classes and Google Docs.

  • Redmi Pad SE 4G (8.7-inch): the 4GB and 128GB version costs Rs 10,999 on Flipkart. The 64GB version is listed at Rs 9,999, but it was out of stock when we checked.
  • Redmi Pad SE (11-inch): Rs 11,999 for 4GB and 128GB, with a Full HD screen and 4.4 out of 5 from 19,569 ratings. It has far more buyer feedback than any laptop here.
  • Keyboard: the Portronics Bubble 3.0 wireless keyboard costs about Rs 800 on Amazon.in and scores 4.3 out of 5.

The 11-inch tablet and that keyboard come to about Rs 12,800, just under the cheapest Windows laptop. Most other tablets under Rs 10,000 on Amazon.in are 7-inch kids' tablets, which are too small for regular work.

Refurbished laptops: what the money really buys

Refurbished is often suggested for this budget, but we did not find a trustworthy option near Rs 10,000.

Cashify's cheapest listings on the page we checked were a Dell Latitude 5400 with an 8th Gen Core i7 at Rs 23,999 and a Lenovo ThinkPad E495 with a Ryzen 5 at Rs 24,599. Cashify says its refurbished laptops come with a 6-month warranty and a 15-day refund. You get much more power, for about twice the price of a new budget laptop.

The one cheap listing we found on Amazon.in shows what to avoid. At Rs 12,000, it had no buyer ratings, listed its brand as "Generic" and spelled Lenovo as "Len0vo". Its title said 14.5 inches while its spec table said 15.6. It also came with Windows 10, which Microsoft has ended support for.

Local shops and used-goods sites may go lower, but you usually give up any warranty. If you try one, test the battery, keyboard, ports and Wi-Fi in person, and confirm that Windows is activated.

What to check before you buy

  • RAM: treat 4GB as the minimum. Avoid any listing with less.
  • Storage: Windows 11 needs at least 64GB, so choose 128GB for a Windows laptop.
  • Operating system: if you need a specific Windows program, only a Windows laptop will run it.
  • Warranty and service: check how long it lasts and whether service is onsite or carry-in. Smaller brands may have fewer service centers near you.
  • Buyer ratings: look at both the score and the number of ratings. A high score from 13 buyers tells you little.
  • The real price: a price with a bank offer or exchange discount is not the price everyone pays.

Which one should you choose?

  • You need Windows programs: the Walker NU14A1 for its bigger screen, or save for a refurbished business laptop if you can reach about Rs 24,000.
  • Mainly browsing and online classes: the Primebook WiFi, or the Lenovo 100e Chromebook if your tools work online.
  • Your limit is close to Rs 10,000: the Redmi Pad SE with a wireless keyboard.
  • Your limit is exactly Rs 10,000 and you need a laptop: wait and save. An extra Rs 3,000 gets you a new Windows laptop, and sale prices can change quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy a new laptop under Rs 10,000 in India?

Not from Amazon.in or Flipkart when we checked on 7 November 2026. The cheapest new Windows laptops were Rs 12,990. Amazon's laptop category between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 showed only adapters and spare parts.

What is the cheapest laptop in India right now?

The cheapest new Windows laptops we found were the Walker NU14A1 and the Neopticon EBook, both at Rs 12,990 on Amazon.in. Both have an Intel Celeron N4020, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Their buyer ratings are low, at 3.1 and 3.3 out of 5.

Is 4GB of RAM enough for a laptop?

It is the minimum Windows 11 asks for. Expect it to manage browsing, documents and online classes, and to slow down when many tabs or programs are open. Avoid new listings with less than 4GB.

Is a refurbished laptop under Rs 10,000 worth buying?

We did not find a trustworthy one. The cheapest Cashify listings we saw started at Rs 23,999. The only cheap listing we found on Amazon.in had no ratings, a misspelled brand name and conflicting specs, so we would skip offers like that.

Can a tablet replace a laptop for students?

For browsing, video classes and Google Docs, often yes. A Redmi Pad SE with a wireless keyboard costs about Rs 11,800 to Rs 12,800. A tablet will not run Windows programs, so check your course requirements first.

Will these prices stay the same?

Probably not. One Rs 14,990 Chromebook sold out on the day we checked. Treat the prices here as a guide from 7 November 2026, and check the listing on the day you buy.
