The current situation in Ahemdabad has worst affected with 4735 Corona Virus Positive cases and 298 deaths which is a total of 77% of total COVID 19 recorded cased in Gujarat (6,245 cases with 368 fatalities). To stop the spread of coronavirus in the city, Ahemdabad, a Strict Lockdown is implemented allowing only milk and pharmaceutical shops to work from 7th May 6.00 AM to 15th May.

As the order released the chaos spread in the city and people start queuing up outside the shops to stock vegetables and groceries for the next 7 days. During the 7 Days of Strict lockdown period only ATMs, Milk and medical shops are allowed to stay open.

Additional Chief Secretory Rajiv Kumar Gupta released the order “all those working in shops like vegetables, fruit, grocery, provisions, supermarkets, ice cream parlors, and people engaged in-home delivery of these items, as well as Swiggy, Zomato, Domino’s and others, become a potent source of infection for many. Therefore in the entire AMC area, all shops and home delivery services except milk and medicine shall remain closed for seven days starting from May 7 at 6 am” various news channels reporting.

In-charge municipal commissioner Mukesh Kumar said “For effective implementation of social distancing and to minimize the crowding to reduce the spread of Coronavirus in the city, all shops shall be closed except providing only milk and medicines.”
The rules are very strict and “Those failing to obey these orders shall be penalized under section 188 and 270 of IPC and section 3 of the Epidemic Disease Act.” he released the notification.
