Cyberpunk 2077 is Massively Illegally Downloaded

Cyberpunk 2077, after 8 years of development, is finally available for gamers. The French launch took place on December 10, at 1 a.m., among players who opted for dematerialized.

And if we strongly advise against getting your hands on the version for PS4 and Xbox One, everything seems to roll on PC (if you have the sufficient configuration) and PS5 and Xbox Series X / Series S.

An event launch, but that s ‘accompanies, of course, pirates obtaining illegal copies. A situation which did not escape the specialists and the number of illegal players would be enormous.

Many factors can be put together to explain these downloads. Between gamers who don’t necessarily have the means/desire to invest several tens of euros in a video game, or those who are wary of massive bad feedback on performance and other bugs, wanting to try Cyberpunk 2077 first.

Not enough to justify the illegal downloading and the damage for CD Projekt, but the beginning of the track. 100,000 illegal players, but probably more in practice.

While a huge number of gamers had obtained Cyberpunk 2077 legally, with a peak of one million people on Steam when it was released, some have preferred the hack route. Available since one in the morning only, illegal copies are flourishing on the web, especially torrent sites despite the efforts of CD Projekt.

Before Cyberpunk 2077’s release, illegal gamers first got their hands on an incomplete version available on GOG, the Polish studio’s site. Then came, later that night, that of Steam proposed by CODEX, complete and functional.
And 100,000 people download the game completely illegally from torrent sites.

Knowing that private platforms are not present in the list, we imagine that this figure is even greater, in fact. As of this writing, the editorial staff notes that 7 torrents to download Cyberpunk 2077 are available on Yggtorrent.

The largest has 1106 seed and 577 leech. Taking these 7 torrents into account, Cyberpunk 2077 download was completed no less than 5,135 times. Suffice to say that CD Projekt has its work cut out for removing these illegal copies.
