Huawei has released its new smartphone, the Mate 9, which comes with 5.9 inches Full HD touchscreen along with a unibody metal frame. It runs on Kirin 960 chipset with ARM Cortex-A73/A53 octa-core processor. It has Mali G71 octa-core GPU and also feature a dual lens main rear camera.
It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS which also contains Huawei’s EMUI 5.0 user interface. It has 4 GB of memory and about 64 GB of onboard storage. This phone comes at a whopping price of $776.
All of these Mate 9 smartphone is precision-built along with an hour of CNC milling on its body which is a metal frame. It also has sandblasted texturing and various other details.
This phone comes with a dual-lens camera which is co-engineered with Leica’s lens and camera. The second-gen dual-camera comes with 12- MP F2.2 RGB color sensor along with 20 MP F2/2 monochrome sensor. It has enhanced image fusion algorithms which combine to improve the images.
The main camera is integrated with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) along with upgraded low light capabilities. It has Hybrid Zoon that also uses laser focus, depth focus, contrast focus and phase-detection for improved focus to capture quality images.
The smartphone features a 4,000mAh battery with quick charging capabilities which provides a full charge in lesser time, only 20 minutes. The battery comes with Super Safe 5- gate protection which also provides real-time voltage along with monitoring of current and temperature which takes away safety hazards.
This phone will come in various colors: Black Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Ceramic White and Mocha Brown. It will be first launched in China, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, UAE and many European countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain. A limited edition Porche Design version of this smartphone will come with 6 GB of memory and stunning storage of 256 GB. It is priced at about $1,553.
This smartphone comes with dual-SIM support especially for travelers who wish to use their phone in different counties. It has a fingerprint scanner as its additional device and data security.
With all these terrific features, this phone will surely make a good first impression on prospective buyers. However, its steep price may affect its customer base. It could have easily grabbed a portion in $500 or less smartphone market. Only time will tell if this new offering from Huawei makes a mark in the smartphone industry.
