Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. You can create and download unlimited invoices as PDFs without paying, and without creating an account. Signing in is optional and only adds saved clients, invoice history and drafts that follow you across devices.

Do I need to sign up to create an invoice?

No. The builder works straight away with no signup. Your invoice is saved in your own browser as you type, so you can close the tab and come back to it. Signing in keeps it permanently and lets you access it from any device.

Does it support GST invoices for India?

Yes. Set the tax rules to India GST and enter your state and your client’s place of supply. The invoice automatically splits tax into CGST and SGST for a sale within the same state, or applies a single IGST line for an inter-state sale. You can also record GSTIN for both parties and an HSN or SAC code per line.

Can I use other currencies and tax rates?

Yes. Choose any currency for the invoice and set a tax rate that applies to the whole invoice, or override the rate on individual lines when different items attract different rates. Tax can be calculated as exclusive (added on top) or inclusive (already contained in the rate).

Is the PDF a real document or just an image?

It is a real PDF with selectable, searchable text — not a screenshot. That means your client can copy the amounts, your accounting software can read it, and the file stays small enough to email comfortably.

What should a professional invoice include?

A clear invoice number and date, your business name and contact details, your client’s billing details, an itemised list of what you are charging for with quantities and rates, the tax applied, and the total due. Payment terms and a due date make it far more likely you are paid on time.
