Perplexity has launched Personal Computer, a product designed to turn a dedicated Mac Mini into an always-on AI agent. Running continuously, Personal Computer orchestrates 20 AI models against a user's local files, applications, and active sessions — and is controllable from anywhere via a companion interface. The product is available now to Perplexity Max subscribers, positioning it as a premium offering for users who want persistent AI assistance integrated directly into their local computing environment rather than running through a cloud interface.

What Personal Computer Does

Personal Computer is essentially a local AI orchestration layer. It runs on a Mac Mini that stays powered on and connected, monitoring the user's local environment and executing tasks autonomously. It can access local files, interact with applications running on the machine, maintain awareness of calendar events and communications, and complete tasks that users assign either in advance or remotely.
