Who this applies to

This policy explains how the ReelDuo app ("ReelDuo", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. It covers ReelDuo on iPhone and iPad from the App Store, ReelDuo on Android from Google Play, and this website. Where the two apps differ, this page says so.

Your recordings, photos and captions

Everything you capture is created and stored on your device:

• Videos and photos are saved to your own photo library or gallery, or to a folder you choose.
• Captions (.srt files made from your teleprompter script) are saved to ReelDuo's own folder on your device — on iPhone, Files → On My iPhone → ReelDuo.
• Teleprompter scripts are stored inside the app on your device.

ReelDuo never uploads, reads or scans your photo library, and never sends your videos, photos, audio, captions or scripts to us or to anyone else. We don't run a server that could receive them. You decide what to share, and where.

iPhone What the iPhone app shares with Meta

Since version 1.5 (September 2026), ReelDuo for iPhone and iPad includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK, used for advertising measurement. It tells us which of our ads led people to install ReelDuo and upgrade to Pro, so we can spend our advertising budget on the ads that work.

When it starts, and what your choice changes

The SDK starts when you first open the app, so the events and device details above are sent from then on. After you finish your first recording, iOS asks whether ReelDuo may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, your advertising identifier is not shared; the events are still sent, without it. As with any internet connection, Meta also receives your device's IP address when the SDK contacts its servers.

How Meta uses it

Meta processes this information under its own Privacy Policy and may use it to measure and improve how ads are delivered. We use the reports Meta gives us to judge our own ads, and we don't combine them with any other data about you.

Our App Store privacy label

This matches the "Data Used to Track You" section of ReelDuo's App Store page: Identifiers (device ID), Usage Data (product interaction) and Purchases (purchase history).

Your choices

• Allow or stop tracking at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Turning off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" there declines for every app.
• Review what Meta receives from apps and websites in your Meta account, under Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Your activity off Meta technologies.
• Deleting ReelDuo stops all further collection.
• Questions or requests about your information can be sent to us at the address below.

Android The Android app

ReelDuo for Android does not include the Meta SDK or any other analytics, advertising or tracking SDK, and does not collect personal information. Everything described under "Your recordings" applies to it in full.

Permissions the app uses

ReelDuo asks for these only to do its job, uses them only while you're using the app, and never uploads what they capture:

• Camera — to record video and photos from your front and back cameras. Frames are processed on your device to build the recording and the live preview.
• Microphone — to record audio with your video.
• Saving to your library — to add the videos and photos ReelDuo creates. It only adds files; it never reads or scans what's already there. On iPhone this is the Photo Library (Add Only) permission.
• Tracking iPhone — the App Tracking Transparency request described above.

You can change any of these in your device settings: on iPhone under Settings → Privacy & Security, or Settings → ReelDuo; on Android under Settings → Apps → ReelDuo → Permissions.

In-app purchases

ReelDuo offers an optional one-time purchase, "ReelDuo Pro". Payment is handled entirely by the store you installed from — Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPad, Google Play on Android — under that store's own privacy policy. We never see your payment details. The app receives only confirmation that a valid purchase exists, and uses it on your device to unlock Pro.

On iPhone, a Pro purchase is also reported to Meta as a purchase event with its price and currency, as described above.

Internet access

Recording, saving, photos, captions and the teleprompter all work offline. ReelDuo uses the network only to:

• ask your app store whether you own ReelDuo Pro, and show the store's own optional "rate this app" prompt;
• iPhone let the Meta SDK send the information described above to Meta's servers.

This website

These pages use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies. We don't show ads on this site, and we don't collect anything you could type into it — there are no forms.

Children's privacy

ReelDuo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the iPhone app and want related information removed, contact us below and we'll help you with Meta's own request process.

Retention and security

We don't operate servers that store information about you, and we hold no copy of your recordings. Your content is protected by your device's own security — your passcode, biometrics and the operating system's data protection. Information the iPhone app sends to Meta is retained under Meta's Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we update the date at the top and post the new version here, before the change takes effect in the app. The 19 September 2026 update describes the Meta SDK added in version 1.5 of the iPhone app, the photos and captions added in version 1.6, and this website's analytics.
