Who this applies to
This Privacy Policy describes how the ReelDuo app ("ReelDuo," "the app," "we," "us") handles information. It applies to everyone who uses ReelDuo, on iPhone and iPad from the App Store and on Android from Google Play.
Information we collect
None. ReelDuo is built to run entirely on your device. We do not operate servers that receive your data, we do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location.
Specifically, ReelDuo does not collect:
- Personal or contact information
- Usage analytics, device identifiers, or advertising IDs
- Your photos, videos, or audio recordings
- Diagnostic, crash, or behavioral tracking data
How the app uses your device
To do its job, ReelDuo requests permission to use certain parts of your device. These permissions are used only on-device, only while you use the app, and the resulting content is never uploaded to us:
- Camera — to record video from your front and back cameras. Frames are processed locally to build your recording and the live preview.
- Microphone — to capture audio together with your video.
- Saving your recordings — to write your finished videos to your device’s own photo library or gallery, or to a folder you choose. ReelDuo only adds the files it creates; it never reads, scans, or uploads the photos and videos already on your device. On iPhone and iPad this is the Photo Library (Add Only) permission.
You can review or change these permissions at any time in your device settings — on iPhone and iPad under Settings → Privacy & Security or Settings → ReelDuo, and on Android under Settings → Apps → ReelDuo → Permissions.
Where your recordings go
Recordings are created and stored locally on your device. When you save a take, both the vertical (9:16) and horizontal (16:9) files are written to your own photo library or gallery, or to the folder you chose. From there, you decide whether to share them. ReelDuo has no ability to access, copy, or transmit those files off your device.
In-app purchases
ReelDuo offers an optional one-time purchase, "ReelDuo Pro," to unlock additional features. It is a single purchase, never a subscription. Payment is handled entirely by the store you installed the app from — Apple’s App Store and StoreKit on iPhone and iPad, or Google Play Billing on Android. We never see or store your payment details, and that store’s handling of the transaction is governed by its own privacy policy. ReelDuo only receives a confirmation that a valid purchase exists, which is used on-device to unlock Pro features.
Internet access
ReelDuo works offline. The only times it contacts the network are to ask your app store whether you own ReelDuo Pro, and to show that store’s own optional “rate this app” prompt. Neither sends us any information about you — we have no server for it to reach.
Third-party services
ReelDuo does not integrate any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. The only third parties involved are the app stores themselves — Apple and Google — solely for app distribution, for processing in-app purchases, and for the ownership check and rating prompt described above.
Children's privacy
ReelDuo is not directed at children, and does not collect personal information from anyone of any age. It contains no objectionable content, no data collection, and no external links to user-generated content.
Data security
Because ReelDuo keeps everything on your device and transmits nothing to us, your content is protected by your device’s own security — your passcode or PIN, your biometric lock, and the operating system’s own data protection. We hold no copy of your data to secure or to lose.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this address. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
