Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 July 2026

The short version: CaptureToComprehend does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. All text recognition happens on your iPhone, your images never leave your device, and there are no accounts, no tracking, and no analytics.

Who this applies to

This Privacy Policy describes how the CaptureToComprehend iOS app ("CaptureToComprehend," "the app," "we," "us") handles information. It applies to everyone who downloads and uses the app from the App Store.

Information we collect

None. CaptureToComprehend is built to run entirely on your device. We do not operate servers that receive your data, we do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location.

Specifically, CaptureToComprehend does not collect:

How the app uses your device

To do its job, CaptureToComprehend requests permission to use certain parts of your iPhone. These permissions are used only on-device, only while you use the app, and the resulting content is never uploaded to us:

You can review or change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security, or under Settings → CaptureToComprehend.

Where your scans go

Text recognition is performed on your device, and your scans and history are stored locally. When you copy text, share it, or export a PDF, you choose the destination. CaptureToComprehend has no ability to access, copy, or transmit your images or scans off your device.

Third-party services

CaptureToComprehend does not integrate any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. Text recognition relies on Apple's on-device Vision framework. The only third party involved is Apple, solely for app distribution through the App Store.

Children's privacy

CaptureToComprehend does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app collects no data and contains no external links to user-generated content.

Data security

Because CaptureToComprehend keeps everything on your device and transmits nothing to us, your content is protected by your iPhone's own security — your passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, and iOS data protection. We hold no copy of your data to secure or to lose.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this address. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
