Privacy Policy for SaveDelete

1. Introduction

Welcome to SaveDelete. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at savedelete.com and when you use the SaveDelete mobile app for iOS.

Where a section applies only to the website or only to the app, we say so.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us on the website

• Subscribe to our newsletter
• Contact us through our contact form
• Comment on our articles
• Create an account

Information you give us in the app

• Account details — your name and email address when you create an account or sign in with Google or Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive only Apple's private relay address and never your real one.
• Documents you create — the invoices, estimates and proformas you build, including your business details and the client names, addresses, tax identifiers and amounts you enter. These are stored on your device. They are sent to our servers only if you are signed in and choose to save a document to your account.
• Notification registration — if you turn on story alerts, we store the notification token Apple issues for your device so we can send them.

Information collected automatically in the app

• Advertising identifier — if you allow tracking when the app asks, our advertising partner may access your device's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) to show ads relevant to you. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalised.
• Usage and advertising data — our advertising partner collects information about ad interactions and general app usage to deliver and measure ads.
• Diagnostic data — crash and performance information used to find and fix faults.

The app does not request access to your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain our website and app
• Create and secure your account, and sync your saved documents across your devices
• Send the story alerts you have asked for
• Send you newsletters and marketing communications
• Respond to your comments and questions
• Display advertising, which is how we fund free access
• Analyze and improve what we offer

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the contents of the documents you create for advertising, and we do not share them with advertisers.

4. Advertising and Tracking in the App

The app shows banner advertising supplied by Google AdMob.

On first use the app asks, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether you allow tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. Your answer is entirely yours to make:

• If you allow it, your device's Advertising Identifier may be used to make the ads you see more relevant.
• If you decline, the app still works exactly the same and still shows ads, but they are not personalised.

You can change your answer at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on your device. You can also limit ad personalisation in Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising.

Google's handling of this data is governed by its own policies, available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

On our website we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity and store certain information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are asked for consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are set.

The app does not use cookies. Advertising in the app works through the advertising identifier described in section 4.

6. Third-Party Services

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our website and app, including:

• Google Analytics for website analytics
• Google AdSense for advertising on the website
• Google AdMob for advertising in the app
• Google and Apple for optional sign-in
• Apple Push Notification service for delivering story alerts
• Social media platforms for sharing content

7. Data Retention and Deleting Your Account

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Documents you have saved to your account are kept until you delete them or delete your account.

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: open Account from the avatar in the top-left, then choose Delete account. This is immediate and cannot be undone. It removes your account, the documents you had saved to it, your story alert registrations, and your newsletter subscription.

If you signed up on the website, you can ask us to do the same by emailing contact@savedelete.com from the address on the account.

Documents that only ever existed on your device are removed when you delete the app.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Opt-out of marketing communications
• Withdraw permission for tracking at any time, as described in section 4

10. Children's Privacy

Our website and app are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
