Microsoft cancels Avowed sequel, pivots Obsidian to new Fallout game led by New Vegas director

Bloomberg and multiple outlets report Microsoft has cancelled the planned Avowed sequel. Obsidian Entertainment will instead develop a new Fallout game led by Fallout: New Vegas director Josh Sawyer, as part of a broader Xbox reset involving 3,200 layoffs and studio closures.
