Amazon seeks FCC approval to launch 5,000 satellites for direct-to-device mobile service

Amazon filed an FCC application to launch a new LEO satellite constellation of 5,105 satellites to provide direct-to-device satellite service for voice, messaging, data, and emergency services, with deployment planned for 2028.
