Xbox Free Play Days: Diablo IV, Killing Floor 3 and More Free This Weekend

Xbox Rolls Out Another Free Play Days Weekend
Xbox is kicking off another loaded Free Play Days event this weekend, giving Game Pass members access to four titles from March 12 through March 15. On top of that, Diablo IV is running a separate open trial available to all Xbox players through March 18.
The Free Lineup (Game Pass Members Only)
Here are the four games available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members this weekend:
Killing Floor 3 – Tripwire Interactive’s co-op zombie shooter takes players to a derelict arctic research base in its Season 3 “Operation: Deep Freeze” update. Currently 40% off at $23.99 if you decide to keep it.
Bassmaster Fishing – The official bass fishing simulation from Dovetail Games, featuring fully licensed Bassmaster content from amateur to elite events. Available at a steep discount of just $3.99 (down from $19.99).
Worms W.M.D – Team17’s hand-drawn 2D strategy classic returns with crafting, vehicles, buildings, and classic weapons that fans love.
Tropico 6 – Kalypso Media’s island nation simulator lets you play as a dictator or statesman across four historical eras. Currently discounted to $9.99 from $39.99.
Diablo IV: Free for Everyone
The headline act is Diablo IV, which Blizzard is opening up for a free trial to all Xbox players (no Game Pass required) from March 11 at 10am PT through March 18 at 10am PT. Players can dive into the campaign with any class, including the new Paladin from the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion, up to level 25. Progress carries over if you purchase the full game afterward.
How to Access Free Play Days
Game Pass members can find the Free Play Days titles through the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store, or by visiting each game’s individual page on Xbox.com. Make sure you’re signed in with your Game Pass subscription to see the free install option.
The Bottom Line
Xbox continues to use Free Play Days as a try-before-you-buy strategy, and this weekend’s lineup is solid. Diablo IV being open to everyone suggests Blizzard wants to pad those player numbers ahead of the Lord of Hatred expansion. The real steal here is Tropico 6 at $9.99 – a genuinely excellent city builder at a fraction of its retail price. Whether these free weekends convert browsers into buyers remains the real question.
