Privacy Policy

The short version

VendorVault keeps everything on your iPhone. The visiting cards you scan, the vendors you save, your notes and your photos are stored only on your device. We run no servers, require no account, and never see your data.

Data we collect

None. VendorVault has no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting services. Nothing you save is sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes its data.

How cards are read

When you scan a visiting card, the text on it is recognised by Apple's on-device text recognition. The card image and the text read from it never leave your iPhone. You review and edit every detail before it is saved.

Permissions the app asks for

Camera — to scan visiting cards and take photos of a vendor's stall. Photos are saved inside the app only.
Photos — when you choose images from your library, iOS shows its own picker and VendorVault receives only the photos you select. The app cannot browse your library.
Contacts — only when you tap “Add to Contacts”. iOS shows its contact sheet pre-filled with the vendor's details, and you decide whether to save. VendorVault does not read your address book.
Notifications — only if you set a follow-up reminder. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing about them leaves your device.

Sharing and exporting

Your data leaves VendorVault only when you choose to share it: exporting a vendor list as a spreadsheet, or opening WhatsApp, email, a phone call, a website or Instagram from a vendor's page. Those actions go through iOS and the app you pick, and that app's own privacy policy then applies.

Backups

If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, VendorVault's data is included in that backup like any other app's data, under your own Apple account. We have no access to it.

Children

VendorVault is a general-audience business tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
