How To Enable Google Multiple Account Sign-in Feature

Ads by Google

It seems that Google is trying hard to make their most successful mailing service “Gmail” more better by introducing several useful features from last few months. Last time they introduced Drag-Drop email attachments and Google calender integration in Gmail which was appreciated by the Gmail users.

And yesterday Google again announced two cool features which was much awaited by the users. Firstly, Google rolling out multiple account sign-in feature and Gmail now lets you save attachments to the desktop via Drag-and-Drop. In this article, I am going to talk about multiple account sign-in and how to enable this feature.

I feel this feature is really useful if you have multiple accounts for multiple purposes. I really need this feature from a long time because earlier I have to sign-in different accounts in different browsers. Now this feature helps me to sign in multiple accounts from the same browser.

Let’s see how to enable multiple account sign-in feature in Gmail which help you to login two or more Gmail accounts in same browser.

Click on Google accounts page and you might see a new option “multiple sign-in”. If you are not able to see this option, wait for some days as Google is rolling out this feature slowly to all users.

Now, click on “change” option and after clicking this Google informs you that this is a advanced feature and will work only with Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Reader, Google Voice, App Engine, Google Sites and Google Code. When you enabled this function, a drop-down will appear next to your email address at the top of the page.

Click on save changes after enabling use multiple Google Accounts in the same web browser. Now enter details of your other Google Account and you are good to go.

After signing into other account, you will see a change,i.e., a new drop-down next to your mail address in Gmail. Clicking on the drop down and selecting other account will allow you to access that Google Account without signing out from the previous account in the same browser.

This is how you can turn on the Google multiple account sigh-in feature. If you want to know more about this feature, you can check Google official page here.

Gmail on iPad – Google announced a two pane designed specifically for the iPad and this was Announced on April 3, 2010. Gmail for iPad was delivered automatically to Gmail Website users who are signed in using the Safari Browser and they may choose to revent to the traditional layout or use of the native IMAP Client and this is the feature which is hidden by the Other Browsers. Thank you for this information on Multiple Gmail Accounts.

Hmmm….the multiple account log in sounds good, but I’m reading some mixed reviews here. I’ll have to go try it out.

Thanks for the tips – I have been using other email providers because I always felt that Gmail was lacking a few key features, but reading this post has convinced me to go back and login directly to my gmail accounts and see if they are now cranking with the features I am looking for.

    Thanks for the advice.
