Very good.I found this open source and easy to use HTML5 video player : http://fryplayer.net/

The player is actually a jQuery plugin and has very nice features like the ability to skin, buffering, full screen mode and keyboard shortcuts.

It is also possible to set the width-height and initial volume of the player.

Thanks for the effort you took to expand upon this post so thoroughly.
Why valid html code is important to your web site’s search engine optimization efforts and consequent high rankings! Such invalid html codes… A single missing bracket in your html code can be the cause your web page cannot be found in search engines… Providentially, there are free services that allow you to check and fix the validity of your html codes.

Two hands on DarkOnyx http://darkonyx.web-anatomy.com/en , imho the best html5 player out there: ad-support, hd/sd switch, up 4 to video sources, flash fallback, eee… and I’m using it, so it’s nice ^^ …

There is also projekktor HTML5 Player – make sure to add it on the list too.

A very helpful article. I tried out some of these in several browsers and read up on them where possible. Actually none of them met my needs. JW Player has the same kind of licensing model as FlowPlayer, the problem for me is that they’re just too expensive for what they do. $10 dollars and I’d have considered it but $65, $95 I think I saw, I’d rather just go with a Vimeo pro account for $60 odd a year and get video hosting and streaming included with a rock solid professional player.

I thought VideoJS was the solution until I discovered the Flash fall back is JWPlayer which puts you back to square one. I still have to check Kaltura and the others mentioned in the comments above. Video for Everybody does not include a Flash Player, it refers you to FlowPlayer and JW Player for flash fallback, back to square one. Last of all OSM Player appears to be dead, the last news posted was some months ago and the last forum questions were unanswered, I wouldn’t want to have my video site depending on that.

There’s also FlareVideo http://flarevideo.com/ which failed to work at all in Safari and Firefox on Snow Leopard when I tested it using the developer’s own site.

    Oh dear.
