Loading speed is very important for a website or blog. You should use CloudFlare and Wp Smush.it plugin for your images and you can also set up a CDN for improved loading speed in WordPress.
Though CDN can improve a lot our sites loading time. Still i believe that if you are able to setup your blog properly it can beat other blogs in terms of speed. Because a lots of feature and plugins can help you server your blog faster and for small to medium size blog i would not recommend CDN.
I didn’t know WP Smush.it, thanks for your comment! I’ve installed it and my site speed has been increased, thanks!
loadimpact is my favorite website to check the overall loading time of my website. Another tools which i use more often is tools.pingdom.com.
