Scrum Software Reviews

Jira

Highly recommended for a bug tracking tool and mainly for Agile software teams. It has made a difference in team collaboration, Agile methodology adoption, decreased time to market new projects/new features, and the overall teams’ spirit. It is a wide adoption for the other departments as well, non-software development. Utilize Jira for IT help desk support, miscellaneous administrative and clerical support, staying focused on engineering and resource planning. There are several benefits of transparently telling all the efforts team is working on, which takes more time, the blockers, who put how much effort into what works, and whether there is value in our work. Jira allows us to stay focused and cut down on non-essential or wasteful work while giving the company a clear work idea.

Pros:

  • user-friendly interface for a pleasant experience
  • Agile Kanban support out of the box
  • extremely configurable on almost everything
  • extendable through custom scripting, either built-in or thru addons
  • highly collaborative

Jira’s ease of use allows the staff and business partners to request. Engineers track effort using Jira Software. The use of the default settings, for the most part, works great for many. There is no obligation to train anyone on how to handle it because everything is self-explanatory. That evades down on confusion and provides to get/enter accurate data.

Cons: Being so adaptable to be configured, the learning curve for admins is a short steep. The cost is depended on the number of users. When you experience wide user adoption in a big company, the user will spend more extra for upgrading to the succeeding tier than if you would spend for that tier the first time. It is very slow at times. Jira’s makers, Atlassian, have not paid much attention over the years about its slowness. When users are into full-fledged project management, portfolio planning and more, they will have to buy additional Jira functionality.

Miro

Many users produce numerous idea and planning of the project process with the help of Miro. Miro is also an excellent additional software for an online meeting. It lets everyone draw to the whiteboard and share ideas to improve the meeting process visually.

Pros: Miro provides a vast range of template for the whiteboard that can complement the whiteboard objective. Planning, brainstorming session and discussion with colleagues have improved the chatting with each other while using the whiteboard. Everyone on the board will be assigned with representative colour. It is easy to distinguish which member has edited and altered the board.

Cons: There are limits to the whiteboard size used to draw or add shapes to the board. When exceeding the board size and there is a need to create a new board, it can’t combine the board. There are also no passwords assigned to the whiteboard to protect it from being edited or deleted by anonymous users.

Considerations while Buying Scrum Software

Whether Scrum is right for your business: Scrum is typically fit for small teams working on dynamic projects with changing deliverables and a little idea of the end product. The Scrum framework works best when you regularly interact with clients and end-users to get feedback on each modification/update until the product is acceptable. It’s not abstract for teams with static and standardized deliverables. Before spending in Scrum software, it’s dominant that you determine whether the Scrum methodology will work for your team.

Try free options before you purchase: Scrum is a complex framework and needs significant training and practice to build expertise. If you’re a modest business with restricted resources, start with free Scrum software, or start with a vendor’s basic plan. That way, you can check if Scrum software is worth the purchase for you and your team.

Whether you require a project management suite or standalone Scrum software: Most project management software suites offer Scrum templates along with other project management methodologies and tools. Whether or not you require a full suite or standalone Scrum software depends on the diversity of projects you control. If all of your projects are client-oriented with changing deliverables and have a well-trained Scrum team in place, opt for dedicated Scrum software. If not, consider a project management software series instead.

Artificial intelligence (AI) will create virtual Scrum masters: The Scrum master performs a significant role in implementing the Scrum approach. Typically, certain masters are team guide or project managers who design Scrum teams, prepare roadmaps for sprints, and analyse them. As with all manual processes, there’s always the opportunity of human error or bias. As AI summarises its pervasive growth, apprehend to comprehend businesses assigning to virtual Scrum masters—AI-based processes that can achieve tasks typically submitted by human Scrum masters.
