Rani Mukherjee returns to the big screen with ‘Mardaani 2’ which is the sequel of her 2014 thriller drama Mardaani. The movie was highly awaited by the fans as well as critics. While Mardaani was a massive hit and her performance in the film as no-nonsense police inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy garnered her applaud.

The film is based on her character Shivani Shivaji Roy, a police inspector who fights against the crimes related to rape, molestation and murder. The movie is produced under Yash Raj Banner and is directed by Gopi Puthran.
