Pulkit Samrat is an Indian model and actor. He has been working in the entertainment industry and Bollywood movies. He mostly works in Bollywood Hindi movies and works as a model for the various notable brands. Pulkit started his acting career with the role of ‘Lakshya Virani’ in the famous TV show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. He made his debut in Bollywood with the movie ‘Bittoo Boss’ in the year 2012. He became a household name after the release of his second movie ‘Fukrey’  in 2013 that received a positive response and was a big hit. Pulkit is a delightful, high spirited and young Indian actor. He shows a great deal of promise to flourish in the coming years.

Family – Pulkit Sharma was born on 29 December 1980 in Haryanvi family in Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, India. His father name is Sunil Samrat, and his mother name is Deepa Samrat. He also has a brother named Ullas Samrat who is not a part of the entertainment industry. His family has its land business.

Early life and education – Pulkit Samrat grew up in North West Delhi.  He did his schooling from Manav Sthali School and Montfort School in Ashok Vihar. He completed his bachelor degree in designing from Apeejay Institute of Design. Pulkit completed Bachelor in multimedia and is a product of ‘Asian School of Media Studies’, Noida. After completing his studies, he moved to Mumbai to pursue acting. He joined an acting course run by Kishore Namit Kapoor and also started working as a model.


While Pulkit was doing his course in Apeejay Institute of Design, he was offered his first add by Asian Paints. In 2005 he moved to Mumbai. Pulkit made his first debut in the popular TV show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, the longest-running television series by Balaji Telefilms. In the show, he played the role of Lakshya Virani. The audience appreciated his looks and performance in the show, and he won the ‘Best Fresh New Face Award’ in  Indian Telly Awards 2006, and ‘Favourite Naya Sadasya’ award at Star Parivaar in 2007. Later on, he quit the show ‘Kyuki Sas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ as he was suffering from back pain in 2008. He went to Dubai for the back pain treatment and then in 2008, joined the friend based reality show on Star Plus ‘Kaho Na Yaar hai’.

After establishing himself as an accomplished actor on the small screen, he debuted in the Bollywood film industry through a comedy film ‘Bittu Boss’ in 2012. The movie was a failure on the box office, but the role of Pulkit in ‘Bittu Boss’ as Punjabi wedding videographer was appreciated by the critics. Pulkit became a household name after the release of his second film Fukrey in the year 2013. The movie was hit and got good reviews. In 2014 the actor played the role of inspector Abhay Rajput in Salman Khan starer movie ‘Jai Ho’.  In the same year, his film ‘O Teri’ under the direction of Umesh Bhishit was released . In “O Teri”, he played the role of Pranab Pratap and got his nickname ‘PP’.  After a few failures his career geared again with his next movie ‘Dolly ki Doli’, in which he played the role of Robin Singh. Dolly ki Doli was a romantic comedy released in 2015 and also starred Rajkumar Rao and Sonam Kapoor. In 2016 actor starred in movie Sanam Re opposite Yami Gautam. Movie e did well on the box office, and Pulkit got critical recognition. His other projects include ‘Junooniyat’ released in 2016. In 2017 Pulkit returned with the film ‘Fukrey Returns’. In 2018 Pulkit was seen in movies ‘3 Stories’ and ‘Veere Di Wedding’. Both the movies were a flop. In 2019 he showed up in ‘Pagalpanti’ along with John Abraham, Anil Kapoor and Arshad Warsi. In the year 2020, he starred in drama ‘Taish’.

Personal Life and Affairs:

Marriage and Divorce – Pulkit Sharma dated Shweta Roharia, a broadcast journalist and Rakhi-sister of superstar Salman Khan for several years. Pulkit met Shweta when she was a freelance journalist and came to take his interview when he was doing the daily soap ‘Kyuki Sas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. In November 2014 the couple got married. Unfortunately, things didn’t go well between them and after a year in 2015 the couple split.

Affairs: In the year 2008 Pulkit dated his costar Mouni Roy for a brief period. 

Pulkit had an affair with Yami Gautam. The duo met at the set of the movie ‘Sanam Re’. Shweta Rohira; then-wife of Pulkit, filed for divorce revealing his proximity with Yami Gautam claiming her the cause behind the broken marriage. Yami and Pulkit finally split after dating for 1-2 years. Reports claim that after Yami Gautam, Pulkit Samrat is dating Kriti kharbanda, his movie ‘Pagalpanti’ and ‘Veery di wedding’.
