Xbox users will soon have the ability to stream their gameplay

Microsoft is enhancing the integration between Xbox and Discord by introducing a new gameplay streaming feature. Soon, Xbox owners will have the capability to stream their gameplay from their console to Discord users. This will enable friends to watch and support them while playing games, offering advice during challenges or boss battles.

The feature is currently being tested with Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings and is expected to be available to all Xbox users in the coming months. It will be integrated into the Parties & Chats section of the dashboard, and once connected to a Discord server, users will see a new “stream your game” option with customizable settings for the stream.

However, it’s worth noting that this streaming feature is one-way, meaning users won’t be able to view streams from their friends who are broadcasting on Discord. Microsoft had previously introduced a basic version of Discord on Xbox in September, which was improved in November to allow direct connections to Discord voice channels without requiring a phone. Additionally, the ability to view Xbox gamertags in Discord calls was added a few months ago.

These ongoing improvements indicate that more enhancements might be on the horizon, raising hope for the possibility of viewing Discord streams on Xbox and potentially engaging in text chats in the future.
