How to Recover Deleted Photos on MacBook?

Recover Deleted Photos

Now I have a long experience with Microsoft and Windows since I have been using different versions of Windows for more than 20 years. A long relationship, but fraught with pitfalls, ups and downs, repeated insults in the face of repeated mistakes and occasional infidelities with the Linux operating system. I have never been too attracted to Macs: too much hype, too expensive, and most of all, little time to train on a Mac for comfortable use. But since all the universities in my company use Macs, I recently applied for (and got) a Mac so that I could train on this operating system. And my fears were proven to be true: there are many common actions that I use keyboard shortcuts for (copy / paste, purge cache, take a screenshot, etc …) that I don’t know how to reproduce on a Mac. Worse yet, I make balls for beginners …

For example, did you think my Mac was infected with a virus? Antivirus for macOS put me at ease on this point. Also last week I unintentionally deleted photos from my Mac and emptied the trash before realizing I had deleted them permanently. Fortunately, there is a very easy way to recover deleted photos from Mac. By using Wondershare Recoverit.

As mentioned above, there is a great way to recover permanently deleted photos. Wondershare Recoverit is the best one among various photo recovery solutions. The reason? It lies in its features!

Can it be done without software?

You may not know it, but when you delete photos and videos within Photos for Mac, they don’t disappear permanently for a month. During that period of time they remain in a directory called “Recently Deleted”, which appears in the sidebar of the application. If we do not see that sidebar, we can access it through the menu View – Show Sidebar (CMD + ALT + S).

This section will never take up too much space since it will permanently eliminate everything that has been there for more than a month The grace of the directory is that, unlike the trash we had in iPhoto, it will never grow too large since everything that we delete and that has been there for more than a month will definitely disappear. But during that month we have plenty of time to realize that we have deleted something by mistake and easily recover it.

Notes application

And precisely because of its usefulness, Apple has decided to bring that same section with the same operation to the Notes application in OS X El Capitan. There we will have at our disposal all the notes that we delete during a month of grace period, as long as we are using iCloud to synchronize them. The first button on the toolbar will show us the sidebar where we can find that section.

Time machine

If by some chance we don’t use Photos for Mac / Notes and we have deleted (even emptying the system trash) files from the Finder, then it’s time to ask yourself: Do you have an active Time Machine? because right now, it is your best option. Simply connect that disk to your Mac and access Time Machine from System Preferences, the Dock icon or the button on the system menu bar. There we can “travel” to a backup made before deleting the file we need, and restore it to the present, taking the displeasure off of us. This is when you thank Apple for having this backup tool.

Important note: Once your photos accidentally deleted, you shouldn’t empty the trash. Thus you can restore them again without any software, as explained above. Hope the information in this article was helpful!
