Munich is getting ready for large corona vaccination campaign. For the planned vaccination centers in all Bavarian counties and cities, the Ministry of Health is assuming that two teams of five can vaccinate 100 people within four hours.
In Munich , vaccination against the corona virus is in sight. The Free State is already preparing for a large vaccination campaign. In addition to large halls, millions of cannulas and very special freezers are required for this. And doctors, of course.
The Free State is preparing for the large vaccination campaign against the corona virus with calculation models and a lot of logistics work. “As soon as a vaccine is approved, we want to start vaccinating as soon as possible,” stressed Health Minister Melanie Huml (CSU). How long it will take to vaccinate all those willing to vaccinate cannot be reliably estimated at the moment.
Huml: “There is at least one mobile vaccination team per vaccination center”
For the planned vaccination centers in all Bavarian counties and urban districts, the Ministry of Health assumes that two teams of five can vaccinate 100 people within four hours. “A doctor is necessary for such a team,” said Huml. The remaining team members are medical professionals and administrative staff.

For the mobile vaccination teams, which are supposed to drive directly to risk groups, for example in nursing homes, at least one doctor, an administrator and a medical assistant are provided. “There is at least one mobile vaccination team per vaccination center,” explained Huml. However, they assume that other mobile teams will ultimately be used.
96 rural districts and urban districts are to set up vaccination centers by mid-December. Around 2,500 contract physicians have now agreed to take part in the vaccinations. More are being sought – but the trend is increasing. Almost three weeks ago, according to the Bavarian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, it was 1,850.
