Miss South Africa 2020 to be held virtually. While the whole world is wrapped under lockdown due to the outbreak of coronavirus and social distancing has been accepted mandatory around the globe, the only means of socializing is virtual. Due to a pandemic where countries have to postpone national pageants, Miss South Africa Organization has also decided to hold its coronation ceremony virtually in the presence of all the participants and stakeholders.
The entry process was done online. In this way, the organization introduced to reach more candidates.
The winner of the beauty pageant will be suitably crowned on the first weekend of August as the country starts to celebrate its Women’s Month. The entertainment-packed pageant is planned to be broadcasted live on both M-Net and Mzansi Magic. Online entries for Miss South Africa 2020 have already begun; aspirants can submit their application through Miss South Africa’s website.
Last year, Miss South Africa Organization had put the entry process to be online to make it easier for would-be contestants, as there had been no forms to download and no regional auditions to which hopefuls could travel. It was done to reach many young women at large and allow taking part from any region of the country. It was hugely successful, and received a record number of entries last year and expect to better this again in 2020.
Last week, the Miss South Africa Organization launched its new logo with a tagline ‘Face Your Power. Embrace Your Future.’ Speaking more about the pageant, she explained that even though the country is under lockdown, they are excited and doing everything to conduct the pageant. This year the organization is looking out for dynamic delegates who will not only be trained as pageant contestants.
They will also be Up-skilled and carved into champions for rights of the women, thought leaders, brand ambassadors, and savvy career women with the tools to fulfill their chosen destiny.
Miss America has been postponed to next year due to pandemic.
The Miss America Organization recently announced to confirm that Miss America 2021 competition has been postponed to the coming year 2021 because of the coronavirus outbreak. For the health, safety, and welfare of the significant community, including volunteers, organizers, participants, and fans, the Miss America Board of Directors had unanimously voted for postponing the Miss America 2021 and has advised all 51 qualifying competitions across the country to do so as well.

The pageant was scheduled to be held in December. It has been delayed to next year due to the nation-wide impact of COVID-19. Shantel Krebs, Board Chair of Miss America organization, said that as they all know, the moment in history is one that will change the course of many programs, businesses, and institutions. The Miss America Organization had not alone in navigating challenges.
At this time, as an organization, the most significant concern has to make sure the thousands of people who have been involved in or volunteer for the program are safe. The coming year will be their 100th anniversary for an iconic American institution, and they want to make sure that they need time to ensure our annual broadcast and the surrounding experiences reflect our time-honored tradition.
Miss America 2020 Camille Schrier, who was crowned live on NBC from Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut in December of 2019, also supported the organization’s decision. Safety and science must be at the forefront of their concern during the pandemic, so she applauded the Miss America Organization‘s decision to postpone this year’s competition to 2021. Camille will now continue to serve in her role as Miss America 2020 until she passes the torch to her successor in 2021.
