You’re really busy planning the wedding, but it’s time to switch to a different organisational factor of the wedding: your honeymoon! How could you forget? But there are so many things you have to think about when you’re going to organise your honeymoon. After all, your honeymoon is also a kind of much-needed vacation to wind down from all the wedding planning stress. So, let’s get started on how to plan the best honeymoon ever.
- It’s never too early
When is the best time to start planning your honeymoon? Well, yesterday! It’s way better to start planning your honeymoon up to a year prior to your wedding. This way, the honeymoon stress will be out of the way and you can fully re-focus on your wedding planning.
- Always plan together
When organising your honeymoon, you sometimes see that some couples let one of them (mostly the women) organise the honeymoon. But the thing is, when only one person organises the honeymoon, you’ll end up with a honeymoon that’s way more to that person’s liking. And that’s not the way to go. Honeymoon planning should be a joint planning process. After all, the reason you’re going on a honeymoon is obviously because you got married. Which means that you’ll decide everything together.
- Go wherever YOU want to go
For some, a beachfront getaway with an all inclusive service is the way to go for a honeymoon. But it might not be the case for you. Maybe you want to go glamping on a mountain which only has 30 citizens. It’s totally up to you. Don’t be influenced by other couples’ honeymoons. However, glamping can also be quite luxurious. With some glamping services, there is even a hot tub (Dutch: hottub) present. And we’re sure that you’re going to want to buy a blow up bubble bath (Dutch: opblaasbaar bubbelbad) afterwards.
- Using a travel agent
You have wedding planners but you also have honeymoon travel agents. These travel agents specialise in honeymoons. So save yourself the trouble and hire a travel agent, they will ask you all the things you didn’t even know could be asked. After all, who would you think would come up with your dream honeymoon. An experienced honeymoon travel agent or yourself? We know the answer to that question. Do you?
- You don’t have to go straight after the wedding
We all know that this is how it’s portrayed in movies and tv-series. You get wed, throw a party and mid party the groom and bride leave the party to go on a honeymoon. But in real life, this isn’t how it goes. Because why would you want to leave a party where you spend thousands and thousands of dollars for. We suggest you take a little bit of a break between the wedding and honeymoon to let it all sink in and get all your ducks in a row. Otherwise you might get overwhelmed!
Are you ready for your honeymoon? We’re sure it’s going to be great!
