The bong has been invented thousand years ago in the middle east for smoking of tobacco. This has become a popular method of smoking marijuana and recently, methamphetamine.

Empty and fill with warm water | Wearing latex gloves, get the bong emptied. Spit old water and any spent herb inside it. Give it a good rinse with warm water to remove solid particles. Fill the bong with warm water. |
Disengage the bong | Take all the individual pieces for cleaning. Remove the movable parts, the pipe and mouthpiece. Take bong apart, check for any damage, chips or cracks. You must replace any damaged pieces before using it again. |
Add coarse salt and rubbing alcohol | Add an abrasive and a cleaner into the base of the bong to clean the inside. Coarse salt and isopropyl alcohol work best. You may use vinegar and rice or baking soda. |
Plug holes and shake it up | Use hands, fingers, and thumbs to block the open holes of the bong so that abrasive and cleaner do not get out of the bong. Shake it for about five minutes to get the best cleaning result. |
Rinse & Repeat | Empty the cleaning solution into a sink and rinse it out completely with clean water. Repeat the cleaning process till the bong looks crystal clear. |

Cleaning Tough Areas and Stains
Presoak the bong in warm water and dish soap | If the bong is high on dirt, it is better to soak it in a sink, basin full of warm water and just a drop of dish soap. Let the bong soak for about an hour or two before starting the actual cleaning process. |
Use little dish soap | If you use too much of the soap, the bong might get an unpleasant soapy aftertaste the next time you smoke. |
Soak small parts in plastic bags | Put all of the small parts of the bong into resealable bags with about a tablespoon of coarse salt. Fill it enough with rubbing alcohol to completely submerge the pieces. Shake it for a few seconds and then let the pieces soak in for several minutes. Afterwards, rinse off with clean water. |
Use a cotton swab or pipe cleaner. | Use plastic cotton swabs or pipe cleaners to scrub the nooks and corners of the bong, where soap and water stains are harder to remove. Dip them in a little bit of rubbing alcohol before scrubbing. |
Use lemon juice to get rid of water stains | To easily remove water stains from the bong, put warm water and lemon juice in the base and swish it around. Rinse it thoroughly with cold water. |

Taking Care of the Bong
Use filtered water in the bong | The minerals in tap water and unfiltered spring water can cause water stains to form in the bong. It is better to always use filtered water when you smoke to prevent this from happening. It is also a good idea to use filtered water while cleaning the bong, or may rinse it with filtered water after cleaning. |
Change the water in the bong daily | By changing out the bong water daily, the bong stays much cleaner. When old water sits in the bong, it might form mold and it can look pretty gross on its own. Mold also causes mold stains to make cleaning of the bong to be a more extensive process. |
Clean the bong once a week | Another way to keep mold from forming and avoid getting mold stains ultimately try to do at least a brief cleaning weekly to keep the bong completely clean. |
Store the bong in a hard case. | As the bong is made of glass, it’s more likely to get cracked and broken if you are not careful with it. While storing and traveling with the bong, try to keep it in a protective bag or a hard case to secure it from anything happening to it. |
The above steps, when taken on a regular basis, will definitely going to help you and the bong to party for a longer period.
