    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application
  • In the Application folder, right-click on “chrome” and press on “Rename” to rename it “chrome1 “.
  • Right-click on “chrome1” to tap on “Send to> “.
  • Press “Desktop (create shortcut)” to create a desktop shortcut.
  • Close File Explorer window.
  • Right-click on “chrome1-Shortcut” in the desktop to tap on “Rename “.
  • Rename it as “chrome “.
  • Double tap on “chrome-Shortcut” for opening it on the computer. It should open without error. Now, get Google Chrome already pinned to the taskbar, follow these steps to pin the new one-
    • Right-click on “Google Chrome” on the taskbar, tap on “Unpin from taskbar” to unpin.
    • Double tap on the new “chrome” icon on the desktop to open it.
  • Right-click on the “Google Chrome” icon to tap on “Pin to taskbar” to pin it. Try to launch Google Chrome without any further issue.

Fix-3 Restarting Chrome process from Task Manager-

Restarting Chrome process will remove bugs/glitches in Chrome. So, follow these steps to do so-

  • Tap Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open the Task Manager window on your computer.
  • Find out the “Google Chrome” in the applications list.
  • Right-click on” Google Chrome,” tap on “End Task “.

  • Scroll down to search the ‘Default ‘folder.
  • Right-click on the “Default” folder, tap on “Copy” to copy the folder.
  • Go to a choice location on the hard drive to tap Ctrl+V to paste the folder to the original folder’s backup. Wait patiently to let the process to complete as the process takes few minutes.
  • Come back to the User Data folder to choose “Default” folder and then press “Delete” to delete the folder from the computer. Restart Chrome browser to follow the steps to reset Chrome-
  • Open the Google Chrome window on the computer.
  • In Google Chrome window, copy-paste or type this line in the address bar and then hit Enter.
    chrome://settings/reset profile settings
  • Tap on “Reset settings” to reset Google Chrome on the computer.
    Google Chrome will be reset. After resetting the browser, check if the error is still coming back or not.

Fix-5 Running in-built Malware and Virus Detector of Chrome-

If the problem is happening due to virus or malware, running Google Chrome’s malware and virus detector may solve it.

  • Open the Google Chrome window on the computer.
  • Copy-paste this line in the Chrome window’s address bar and press Enter.
