Email large videos to another person(s) account can be done using Google Drive in Gmail, OneDrive in Outlook mail, or Dropbox in Yahoo mail.
Many email clients have limits on the size of attachments one can send via email. This prevents users from posting large video files. Fortunately, some majorly popular email clients have changed their services by allowing users to attach and post large files which exceed the limitations of standard size .
METHODS : How to Email Large Videos

- Using Google Drive (Gmail)
- Using OneDrive (Outlook)
- Using iCloud Drive’s Mail Drop (iCloud Mail)
Method 1 : Using Google Drive (Gmail)
STEP | PROCEDURE TO EMAIL LARGE VIDEOS USING GOOGLE DRIVE |
1 | Go to the Gmail website. If you are not logged in your Gmail account, get it done now with the email address and password. |
2 | Tap Compose. |
3 | Push the Google Drive button which is a triangle-shaped icon at the bottom of the “New Message” window. |
4 | Tap the Upload tab which is in the top right corner of the Google Drive window. |
5 | If the video file you wish to post is already uploaded to Google Drive, you can just insert it from the default Google Drive window that opens. Tap Select files on the computer. |
6 | Select the video. Navigate to a different folders of the computer to find the video depending on the video’s location on your computer. |
7 | Tap Upload in the bottom left corner of the Drive window. Once upload finishes, it will appear as a link in “New Message” window. |
8 | Enter the email details like recipient’s email address, a subject field, and email text. |
9 | Push Send, the blue button in the bottom left corner of the New Message window. The file will be sent as a link which the recipient will download when the file is opened at the other end. |

You have to authorized your recipient to view the attachment. For this you have to click Share and send in the window that pops up. You may choose to let the recipient edit/comment on the file from the drop-down menu.
Method 2 : Using OneDrive (Outlook)
STEP | PROCEDURE TO EMAIL LARGE VIDEOS USING OneDrive |
1 | Go to the Outlook website. If you are not currently logged into Outlook account, access using email address and password. |
2 | Tap three-by-three grid of dots in the top left corner of Outlook window. |
3 | Select OneDrive. |
4 | Tap and drag video file into the OneDrive window Or click Upload at the top of screen, select Files, and select video from the computer. Video begins uploading immediately, but may take time to complete. Keep OneDrive page open until upload is complete. |
5 | Exit the OneDrive tab when video uploading finishes. Voila! you are ready to send email. |
6 | Tap +New at the top of the page, directly above “Inbox” heading. |
7 | Tap Attach, a paperclip icon above new email section on the left side of screen. |
8 | Select OneDrive at the top of the page. |
9 | Tap video file. |
10 | Select Next. |
11 | Tap Attach as a OneDrive file. Unless your (file is less than 20Gb, it is only available option). |
12 | Enter email details like recipient’s email address, a subject field, and email text. |
13 | Tap Send to share a link. Recipient will open the file by clicking the link and may download the file. |
Unlike Gmail, files sent with OneDrive are automatically shared with recipient.
Method 3 : Using iCloud Drive’s Mail Drop

1 | Go to iCloud Mail website. Log in with Apple ID and password first. If iCloud Mail doesn’t automatically open, click the Mail in the top left corner of the iCloud. |
2 | Tap gear icon in the bottom left corner. |
3 | Select Preferences. |
4 | Open Composing tab at the top of the Preferences window. |
5 | Tap Use Mail Drop while sending large attachments. Mail Drop allows an attachment of up to 5Gb as a link in the email. If already checked, don’t un-check it. |
6 | Tap Done. |
7 | Select the New Email button which is a pen-and-pad icon at the top of the webpage. Or may Open a new email by holding down Alt + Shift and then clicking N. While using a Mac, hold Option instead of Alt. |
8 | Tap the paperclip icon at the top of email window. |
9 | Select video and depending on its location in computer, navigate to its location. |
10 | Enter email details like recipient’s email address, a subject field, and email text. |
11 | Tap Send, video will arrive in recipient’s inbox in the form of a link. To view, recipient will have to download it from the email. |
