Few Easy Steps to Sync iMessage across Your Multiple Devices

If you are using multiple iOS devices, you would like to sync iMessage in all of them. In fact, you may also sync iMessage on Mac with other devices. Wondering how to go about it? Well, here is our guide that will help you.

Set Up iMessage on Device 1 (let’s say iPhone)

We will assume that iPhone is your primary device (it doesn’t necessarily have to be; you can start with any device). Keeping that in mind, we will set up iMessage on iPhone first. This is how we will begin syncing. Here is what you need to do:

Step 1: From the home screen of your device open the Settings option. Scroll down and select Messages on the next screen. Now you should see a few options in the Messages section. You just need to make sure that iMessage toggle is pulled toward right and that iMessage is turned on. If it is turned off, turn it on.

Step 2: Now return to the Messages option in the Settings. Again scroll down until you see Send & Receive. Select this option.

Step 3: On the new window you should be able to see your Apple ID sitting on the top. Under the Apple ID you can also see all the email addresses and phone numbers that you have been registered and tied to your Apple ID. Ensure that all the details are correct. If not, update the details. If the details are correct, simply check the phone numbers and the email IDs so that all of them are tied to iMessage.

This is how you set up iMessage on your iPhone (or any other device you consider as your primary).

Now let’s set up another one.

Part 2: Set Up iMessage on Device 2 (let’s say iPad)

We will now be setting up iMessage on your secondary device. We are taking the second one to be an iPad. This set up will ensure that your iMessages are properly synced on both the devices.

Step 1: From the home screen of the iPad open Settings option. When you see the list of more options in Settings, scroll down and select Messages. Here, you need to make sure that iMessage is turned ON. If it is off, just move the toggle next to it to right and it will turn green. You have enabled iMessage now.

Step 2: Just like iPhone, return to the Messages option in the Settings. Here, you need to scroll down and select Send & Receive option.

Step 3: The way you saw it in iPhone, you will see Apple ID right on the top. Underneath it you will see the list of all the phone numbers as well as email addresses that you have registered with this Apple ID on this device. You need to make sure of two things: Firstly, Apple ID should be the same as the one you have on iPhone. If it is not the same, log out of this ID and log in with the same one. You also need to make sure that the phone numbers and email IDs registered with Apple ID on iPad are same as iPhone. If they are not, add the new numbers and email ID

Now you will see that iMessages are getting synced without any hassles.
