Using Time Machine

Check Show TimeMachine | To create a shortcut in the menu bar for backup status and Time Machine preferences. |
Press Options | It is placed in the lower-right corner of the window. |
Tap Back up | To allow Time Machine backups when Mac is not plugged and is on battery power. |

Backing up to iCloud
Tap Apple menu. | It’s the icon in the upper-left corner of the screen. |
Tap System Preferences | Placed in the second section of drop-down menu. |
Press on iCloud. | It is placed on the left side of the window. |
When Not automatically logged in, enter Apple ID and password. | |
Check box next to iCloud Drive. | It is placed at the top of the right pane to store files and documents in iCloud. |
Choose iCloud Drive in any “Save” dialog box. Drag files to iCloud Drive in the left pane of Finder window. | |
Select permission to access iCloud Drive by pressing on the Options button next to iCloud Drive. |

Select types of data to store. | Check boxes below “iCloud Drive”. |
Check Photos | To back up & access Photos on iCloud. |
Check Mail | To sync & store email messages on iCloud. |
Check Contact | To keep a copy of contacts on iCloud. |
Tap Calendar | To keep a copy of calendars on iCloud. |
Tap Reminder | To keep a copy of reminders on iCloud. |
Tap Safari | To keep a backup of Safari browsing data on iCloud. |
Tap Notes | To keep a copy of notes on iCloud. |
Tap Key Chain | To share an encrypted copy of passwords and payment data across the devices signed in with Apple ID. |
