The Gluten-Free diet prohibits one from eating food sources that contain Gluten. Its found in foods like Wheat, Rye, and Barley. Gluten is a type of protein.

Fruits and vegetables: citrus fruits, bananas, apples, berries, peaches, pears, cruciferous vegetables, greens, starchy vegetables, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, carrots, radishes, green beans.
Dairy products: milk, butter and ghee, cheese, cream, cottage cheese, sour cream, yogurt.
Beverages: water, 100% fruit juice, coffee, tea some alcoholic beverages, sports drinks, soda, and energy drinks, lemonade.
For how long a gluten-free diet is recommended?
For a person with celiac disease, a gluten-free diet is a must and they should strictly follow it. When you follow such diet then any symptoms and complications of celiac disease are not seen.
By research, doctors and medical associations have suggested that if the person has celiac and he/she can follow a gluten-free diet for one or two years, after that you can restest your level of sensitivity with the foods that have gluten. As it has been seen thatt the disease may not be a lifelong one. More research is required on this and on the health improvements like weight loss and increased energy levels.
