As a gamer, you’ve probably played all sorts of games throughout your life, from sports to video games, and everything in between. If you’re a gamer at heart, you probably grew up playing monopoly and Magic, or a various assortment of PC games, and even some Tetris on your Gameboy back in the day. If you have no idea what we’re talking about, you’re clearly a next-generational gamer, and have a entirely different feeling for gaming!

But either way, for someone who hasn’t played one or the other, what would you say are the benefits of each one? And which one would you choose if you had to? It’s a tough choice, but in this post, we’ll take a look at all the pros and cons of online and real-life games, so that you can decide for yourself.

Online games–the pros and cons

Online games are anything from mobile games to more complex RPGs and survival games, which are made up of very intricate graphics, and often involve plots and storylines that make you feel like you are right in the game. For more information, all you need to do is a Google search and you’ll be well on your way to finding out more about all of the games out there.

Pros of online games

The pros of online games include the fact that you can immerse yourself in a different world, and still get to play with old and new friends, thanks to the power of the internet. There are so many games available, all you need is a desktop, or a console, a screen and an internet connection, and you can be well on your way to exploring apocalyptic futures or even fantasy worlds.

Cons of online games

For some people, online games might not involve as much time with other people as they would like, but as we’ve mentioned above, online games can still be very social. This includes all kinds of games, not just video games, for example, bingo, casino games, Scrabble or any kind of game that can be played online, and which has any kind of chat functionality!

Real-life games–the pros and cons

Real-life games, like playing bingo in bingo halls, board games and other offline games can also be just as fun, the only difference is that you’re standing or sitting next to people while they’re happening. This can also apply to sports, where you need to be outside to play the game. Other real-life games include card games and even playing your console in real-life with your friends.

Pros of real-life games

Real-life games can be really fun, I mean, who didn’t grow up playing Magic with all their friends at their house? These kinds of games can also be fun because you can see the reactions on people’s faces when you are playing a game. Some other pros of real-life games are the exercise and fitness that you get from playing sports, or getting some sun on your skin when you’re outside playing football.

Cons of real-life games

With real-life games, you have to be in a certain location or with certain people for them to happen, you can’t just switch on a computer and get a whole football team to magically appear! This means that sometimes it can be more difficult to make real-life games happen, as it depends on people’s schedules, and how often they are willing to go out.

Final thoughts on online games vs. real-life games

In the post above, we’ve explored some of the pros and cons of online games and real-life games. So what do you think? Are you still up for a bit of both, or does one or the other suti you better? The truth is that both of them have their strengths and weaknesses, but overall we’d have to say that online games are a lot more convenient, as you can play them anywhere and everywhere, and don’t need to worry about schedules and getting people together! With all of the development that is happening with virtual and augmented reality, online games are also evolving a lot, and bringing together elements of both online and real-world games. So maybe in the future, there won’t even feel like there is much of a difference, we’ll have to wait and see!
