Why a 100KB Image Doesn’t Have to Look Bad
A typical phone photo is 3–5MB at 12 megapixels. Forcing that down to 100KB with the quality setting alone leaves visible blocks and smearing. This compressor works the other way round: it finds the highest quality that fits your limit and reduces the dimensions only when quality alone would ruin the picture. In testing, a 12-megapixel photo came out at 99KB and 1,725×1,294px — sharp enough for any upload form.
