Halley’s Comet, a Russian New Year comedy movie will be released on 3rd December. Two spectacular events will take place in December 2020. One is the Gemenids meteor shower (from the Latin Gemini), also known as the most spectacular starfall of the year, and the other is Halley’s Comet.
“Starfall can be observed from 4 to 17 December. This phenomenon occurs at a time when the Earth passes through the tail of a comet that has just flown around the Sun, or falls into a meteor shower left by a comet on its last visit to the Sun, ”says Ekaterina Filippova, Head of the Department of Scientific Information and External Relations of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
And on the eve of the starfall, from December 3, residents of the whole country will be able to see Halley’s Comet. But not the one that appears in the sky only once in a hundred years.
A New Year comedy, in which the main roles were played by favorite Russian stars: People’s Artist Liya Akhedzhakova, Anya Chipovskaya, Anton Shagin, Pavel Priluchny, Anna Mikhalkova, Nina Usatova, Maxim Lagashkin.
According to the plot of the film “Halley’s Comet” on New Year’s Eve, 34-year-old physicist-astronomer Ignat Halley, fascinated by the stars and work in a mountain observatory, flies to the capital to file for a divorce. In Moscow, he meets the girl Taisia Artemyeva and her family, mother Yulia, sister Dusya and intelligent, eccentric grandmother Yanga Lvovna. Everything was turned upside down by the meeting in the life of the astronomer. Ignat will be persuaded to make an important decision on New Year’s Eve. A change will be seen, not only his life but also his new acquaintances.
Halley’s Comet is a film about how, on the eve of the most beloved holiday, real miracles happen, how a person who finds his other half becomes completely happy. This is a kind story about love that can happen to absolutely everyone, says Anton Shagin.
