Producing the Album
Keep in mind that recording and producing are not the same thing. After you have all the tracks recorded, you’ll need an editing software to put all the pieces of each song together.
Again, this doesn’t have to be the huge music boards and expensive programs you see top artists working with. You can make your first album with one good program on your computer and investing enough time to get everything right.
Marketing Yourself
The last piece of the puzzle is marketing.
You should be marketing your album before it’s even completed. This is a page out of a true recording artist’s book. It’s why popular singers/songwriters release singles before their albums and why they do appearances to promote them.
When you’re just starting out, marketing can be reaching out to small local radio stations. It’s investing in free marketing resources like social media and blogging, and asking for the support of friends and family.
