Understanding Leadpages and its Applications

leadpages

As a satisfied Leadpages customer since 2020, I can confidently say it’s among my top tools. I used Leadpages on almost all my websites and my clients’ sites as well. With its help, I’ve generated hundreds of leads and customers. One of my clients even achieved a 5.45% conversion rate using Leadpages, more than double the average conversion rate of 2%.

Thus, my aim is to craft a comprehensive Leadpages review that illustrates what Leadpages is and demonstrates how to utilize it effectively for self-promotion.

What exactly is Leadpages?

Leadpages is a widely-used landing page creation tool, boasting over 45,000 users. It enables individuals with no design background to construct landing pages from the ground up, thanks to its user-friendly drag-and-drop builder and an array of pre-designed templates.

Simply choose a template, incorporate widgets, and tailor it to suit your requirements and brand identity. Leadpages also provides additional features that assist in generating leads, such as pop-ups and notification bars.

Undoubtedly, at the heart of Leadpages lies its landing page builder. This builder provides:

Drag-and-drop customization

In 2016, Leadpages underwent a complete redesign of its editor, introducing a seamless and user-friendly drag-and-drop experience.

Create landing pages

Leadpages‘ primary function is enabling the creation of landing pages. Users can choose from existing templates or build their own from scratch using the drag-and-drop builder, which offers great flexibility in designing pages. The following are examples of various landing pages that can be created with Leadpages:

Content, Webinar, Sales landing pages

They offer a variety of content landing page templates that can be utilized to advertise gated content such as white papers, ebooks, webinars, contests, and giveaways.

Simply select a template and modify the text, images, and branding to fit your needs and integrate it with your email marketing platform. Although webinar landing pages were mentioned earlier, it’s worth noting again the abundance of templates specifically designed for them.

Many of these templates include an automatic countdown timer at the top of the landing page, indicating when the webinar will begin, encouraging more people to register and anticipate the event. If desired, you can set the timer to redirect users to a different page when the webinar starts or at a specific time, preventing late registrations.

If a template lacks a built-in timer, you can easily add one using their drag-and-drop builder. They also provide numerous sales page templates for promoting products, online courses, consulting services, books, ebooks, and coaching. Simply choose a template and customize it to meet your requirements.

Over 130 free templates and a vast marketplace of premium templates.

These enable you to rapidly create new landing pages by simply editing the text and publishing.

Numerous marketing integrations Effortlessly connect to your preferred email marketing service, webinar software, CRM, payment gateway, and more.

Hosted landing pages Leadpages hosts all your landing pages, while still allowing you to use your own domain name.

Multiple website integrations Leadpages also facilitates easy connection to your website.

For instance, it offers a dedicated Leadpages WordPress plugin and various other website integrations for Squarespace, Joomla, and more.

Simple A/B testing You can swiftly initiate a split test to determine the best-performing versions of your landing pages.

Comprehensive analytics Leadpages not only offers in-dashboard analytics but also simplifies the process of integrating Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and other tracking tools.

Thank You Pages

A thank you page is the destination users are directed to after signing up for a service or purchasing a product online. While most people simply express gratitude and provide information about what to expect on this page, it can also be utilized for various other purposes, such as promoting additional lead magnets, tripwires, or encouraging users to follow you on social media. To streamline the creation of thank you pages, Leadpages offers numerous customizable templates that you can easily modify and implement.

Build entire websites

Leadpages is versatile and can be employed not only for creating landing pages but also for constructing complete websites. Utilize their site templates to design your homepage and all other pages on your website.

Leadboxes Custom-designed pop-up forms that can be displayed automatically or based on user actions. You can even link a button created in the landing page builder to a Leadbox for an easy, conversion-enhancing two-step opt-in process.

Leadlinks These enable you to register existing subscribers for an offer with just one click. For instance, you can sign them up for a webinar or a sublist simply by sending a link.

Leaddigits A more specialized feature that allows leads to subscribe to your email list or webinar using their mobile phones and automated text messages.

While the landing page builder remains the primary offering, these supplementary features can help you achieve unique functionalities and integrate seamlessly with the landing page creator.

Construct any page using their builder

Should you wish to enhance an existing template or create a landing page from the ground up, Leadpages builder is at your disposal. It allows you to incorporate widgets and tailor them to your requirements. Available widgets include text, images, videos, call-to-action buttons, share buttons, progress bars, countdown timers, and many more.

Creating a Call to Action (CTA) with Leadpages

When building landing pages, it’s likely you’ll want to include at least one call to action (CTA) on the page, as the strategic use of a CTA button is a crucial component of landing page optimization.

To provide a deeper understanding of Leadpages’ Button widget, let’s explore its options:

Clicking on any button widget brings up a new set of options. The two middle options allow you to set the font and font size, as well as button and text colors. The outermost options, however, reveal more interesting possibilities.

First, clicking the button on the left gives you the ability to swiftly switch between different design styles. This feature makes creating stylish buttons easy, even without extensive design knowledge. For instance, other landing page platforms may require manual adjustment of radius and shadows to achieve specific effects, while Leadpages offers preset options.

This feature, also found in Thrive Architect, is a welcome addition to Leadpages.

Second, the hyperlink button goes beyond choosing a URL for the button it also enables you to effortlessly link to another Leadpage or a Leadbox you’ve created. This functionality is beneficial for creating two-step opt-ins, an effective method for boosting conversion rates.

With a two-step opt-in, visitors click the button to open a new pop-up containing the signup details, rather than displaying those details on the page from the outset. Leadpages simplifies this technique and offers flexibility by allowing you to custom design each popup using the same drag-and-drop editor. More details on this feature will be discussed later in the review.

Free custom domain

By subscribing to an annual Leadpages plan, you will receive a voucher for one year of free domain registration.

Free hosting

Leadpages allows you to host your website or landing pages using their hosting service. If your site experiences slow loading times, consider utilizing this feature, as loading speed directly impacts conversion rates. Faster site loading leads to increased lead generation and sales.

WordPress plugin

Leadpages offers a WordPress plugin that simplifies the process of publishing landing pages created with Leadpages on your WordPress blog. This feature is particularly useful, as having landing pages directly under your domain appears more trustworthy and professional. My site is hosted on WP Engine, a robust hosting service ensuring rapid page loading. You can read my WP Engine review here, detailing the reasons I use it along with some potential drawbacks.
