InFocus Turbo 5+ and Snap4 – A New Breakthrough in the Budget Smartphone Market?

InFocus is coming up with yet another exciting launch of mobile devices. Yes, this time there will be two new smartphones exclusively for Indian customers. Turbo 5 Plus and Snap 4 will be unveiled on 13 September in New Delhi, and we have got the exclusive imagery of the devices.

InFocus is a US based company that has made its entry in the Indian market two years back in 2015. Their recent launch was Turbo 5 that came out in June 2017; the new Turbo Plus will be a successor of Turbo 5. The company has tweeted the photos and news of both the phones and some of their features have also been leaked online.

Both new phones (Turbo 5 Plus and Snap 4) will have dual rear cameras. Turbo 5 Plus will have a 4,850mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor in their home button, and a Dual Tone LED Flash light . While the Snap 4 will have a fingerprint sensor that will be placed at the rear of the phone below the dual cameras, Snap 4 will also have a metallic unibody. As per the word going around, the fingerprint sensor on Turbo 5+ will let the users to unlock it and open select applications. Snap 4 might not have this feature.

If the buzz is to be believed, Turbo 5+ will be 4G enabled and will be powered by Mediatek MT6570N, 1.5 GHz Octacore processor. It will further be expandable up to 64GB with micro SD card. InFocus Snap 4 is said to be launched in only one version – 4GB RAM + 64GB.

InFocus Turbo 5 had 5,000mAh battery which gave it 23 hours of video calling plus 34 days of standby time. It had 5.2 inch HD screen with a 720x1280px display with a curved glass of 2.5D. It runs on Nougat (Android 7.0) and has the InLife 2.1 UI developed by the company itself. It has the power of MT6737 MediaTek processor, and the camera setup gives 13MP rear cam (LED Flash) with autofocus and 5MP front camera.

Turbo 5 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage and another model with 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage. You can get these devices exclusively on Amazon India in two colour variants – Pure Gold and Mocha Gold. The pricing of 2GB RAM phone is 6,999, and 3GB RAM is 7,999.

I am hoping for the new breed of budget smartphones within a range of Rs 15,000 and a lower price tag for Turbo 5 Plus and Snap 4. It will be exciting to see how these new smartphones capture the market as they seem to have all the right features within an affordable price range, and will give a good competition to the likes of Xiaomi.
