What it takes to be a Developer

Hello Guys .. this post idea was given by my office colleagues Ashish, Vaibav, Mukesh, Hiren & Happy also its been complied with there valuable inputs.

You must agree to the fact that to become a Developer there are certain traits and qualities that one should possess. These are not essential but you will find these special characteristics and behaviors that they are inherited with. The list below will show possibly correct behaviors, traits or qualities that a person should possess to become a developer in a sense.

The programmer and a computer

Enjoy and Share it with your friends..

  • If you ask a developer about a software if he has a installation or dump of it, he says ‘yes, which version do you want ? ‘. Developers are very rich of software resources.
  • If he writes a CD/DVD or backup his data on a hard disk . He doesn’t really care for writing a name on a CD or he doesn’t know where the hell he has stored his backup on hard disks.
  • The One thing He really do well is Copy/Pasting. He really knows from where to copy the required code, snippet and where to post.
  • Multiple Browsers and Multiple Tabs in each browser is what you will find on his 24 hour running desktop or laptop. The Developer needs sleep but his computer never fall asleep it is always kept ON.
  • His computer never has disk space its almost full every-time. When he wants to store more he gets confuse what do delete even though some data will never be used and will not be required in future for sure.
  • 3GB Ram and 2.9GB will always be used. The computer is in hell of a pressure and tension. I wonder if these things are ever thought by manufacturers.
  • Some of these takes bath only on weekdays as he has to go to office. But Weekends are somehow left out for personal hygiene
  • He uses Windows like a underwear … it gets replaced with a new copy in every six months.

I know this list is not completed and things are pretty debatable but i am sure you will agree with most of it. Don’t forget to share with your friends. Cheers!

      Hello Mr I.

bathing is a great debate thing as for office goers i feel it happens … they tend to ease out a little.

I think over a time of 1+ yr core development you will feel like where the hell the thing has gone … if u are highly organized then u can run from it.

  4. I completely disagree with all your points. Ha Ha

Pretty humorous list, thanks for sharing. In all seriousness I think that a good developer needs a great deal of patience. This is a job that can be very frustrating, especially when you are dealing with co-workers that don’t know what they are doing and this is where patience and self-control can come in handy.

  17. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appeal. I must say you have done a fantastic job with this.
