Turn Your Facebook Profile Into A Mini Blog In Just 2 Minutes

Facebook designer Rob Goodlatte and some other Facebook designers and developers recently developed Facebook.me. It is a Facebook’s new Open Graph API where Facebook users can export their Facebook data like updates, links, photos etc.

It means Facebook users can turn their profile into a mini-blog and that is for free by connecting their account with Facebook.me. You can also have a option to choose from 3 pre-defined themes to display your profile content.

Let’s See How It Works

First of all, visit Facebook.me home page and click on “Connect to Facebook”. By doing this, you will be connected to your Facebook account.

After connecting to your facebook account, you have to allow the application to publish posts, comments, photos, videos and other items. Just click on “Allow publishing” and you are done. All your Facebook wall contents are updated into Facebook.me.

One disadvantage of Facebook.me is that you don’t have the options to customize what you want to show here. Well, as this is just released, we might be able to see customization options in future. Now, it’s time to play with pre-defined themes.

Photostream : Showing Images and Status Updates
Rush : Showing Status Updates
Glide : Showing Latest Images in Horizontal Slide

Some Disadvantages of Facebook.me

  • No Customization / Filter updates possible
  • Vanity URL is not supported
  • News Feed is not real time

Verdict

Well, as this is just released, there are some disadvantages or lacking points while using Facebook.me. But, if they solve these minor bugs, I believe that Facebook.me will become cool application for creative artists, musicians or photographers to show their portfolio in a astonishing style without spending a penny.

Now, it’s your turn to tell us what do you think about the Facebook’s new Open Graph API ? Are you going to use this application ? Do share your views with us in comments section below.

This is great, thanks for the post, I’m currently using tumblr which is very basic, recommend only for non techie types, blogspot is the best freeblog platform imo – i’ve not tried Facebook, i might give it a go though.

We’ll just wait for any adjustment so we can remove the disadvantages of it. But as we can see it has the negative side but of course it should have its positive side plus it is Facebook, we all know how popular and how many members facebook have compared to other social networks.
Lets just see and wait for better future on facebook
