Hello my friends, yesterday Facebook marked its sixth birthday in a style with hitting another milestone as members climbing to 400 million this week. The big thing is that the massive growth is showing no signs of slowing down. But what’s new for the users of Facebook.
The new home page began rolling out worldwide late Thursday and its not wrong to say that the biggest social networking website in the world has made drastic changes in its website.
So today morning, I noticed that I was lucky enough to get my revamped version of Facebook as not all of friends have the same new version.
Some new features and layout :
1) New Home Page
There are many useful and important changes in Facebook user interface and the most liked by me is that the search box has moved from the top right of the screen to left hand position improving Facebook navigation.
2) Friend Requests, Messages and Notifications
All the three buttons are on the top left and by clicking on it comes the drop down effect which helps to see notifications in a easier way.
3) New Message Conversation
Wow, this is cool feature, now I don’t have to enter in the Facebook inbox for composing a message and I’ll get a glimpse of incoming message in the notification too.
4) News Feed: Tops News and Most Recent
Well again I see a change, “Live Feeds” are gone and “Most Recent” comes in. News feeds are divided into two categories (Top News & Most Recent).
5) Photos and Videos
That’s the best feature I likes, a totally new way to navigate photos and videos uploaded by your contacts
6) Home, Profile and Account Settings
Now, all these three buttons are on the top most right corner and now you can change or view your settings by clicking your “account” button in the extreme right.
Have a look on this new layout
Comments from my friends who haven’t got the new layout yet
Jaspal : Hamare 1000 friends nahi hai to yeh koi baat hui, hamein kyu nahi diya? (That’s not the way, why they didn’t give us the privilege for new layout because we don’t have 1000 friends?)
Vikas : Yeh achi baat nahi hai jabh sath wale ka change ho jata hai aur mera nahi hota, feel hota hai yaar !!(It feels like shit when we don’t get the enhanced features even though my mates have it)
Verdict
In the past, I was not happy with their layout changes, but I am open minded about this one. After spending few minutes, I realized that this new layout is easy to navigate and more crisp. For me, it really make the user experience a bit easier and less cluttered from the earlier version.

few years ago no one can predict that small social networking sites will be the 2nd after great google.

Great..Thanks for your wonderful comments Roland, really appreciate it.
Hi Yogesh,
I found your excellent post while looking on Digg.com.
You certainly sound like a FaceBook expert!
I think the new layout is okay. However, I can no longer find the RECENT FRIENDS.
I know that the link with the number of friends will let you browse, but the old link let you see all the friends you recently added AND allowed you to assign them to a list.
If you know what happened to this link, please let me know
Cheers,
Mitch

Thanks for the comment, I am not the FB expert but yes I found recently added friends list in Fb
Click on the “account” link in right hand top of the FB window. You will see”edit friends” options ,just click on the that. Now you will see a list appears in the left side which also contains”recently added” options. I think you are asking the same. Hope it will help you now. Happy Facebooking. Great time ahead
Cheers

You created a very good point with what you mentioned. People have to read your article so they can obtain a much better viewpoint about this concern. It was awesome of you to present good facts and supporting justifications. After reading this, I know my mind is pretty certain on the subject matter. Continue the truly amazing work!
Wow, that’s really a wonderful comment and a certainly my motivation booster. I will surely try to come up to the marks in the future. Till then, have a nice time ahead.

I like what they’ve done with the UI. This allows easier implementation of new features down the road (something else for people to get up in arms about). Just came across your site, like it, good job.
Thanks Warren for dropping by a comment. Keep coming in future!!

ClixSense is our job and our job is serving our members.
Take care,

I don’t like the new home page very hard to navigate and too much information on one page, I do like that they have made it so you can see all your friends status updates at one time without having to look through all the farmville stuff cause really I don’t care who gave who a cow, I like Facebook for the connection value and status updates are probably the feature I like and check the most see how friends are doing. So that part is good, but otherwise not so much the original set up was the best, when you have a good product why did you even mess with it in the first place..the first way was the best..
