Don’t just skim through web pages, use Instapaper to read them later

The world is changing so as we. We read articles on Internet rather than in the newspapers these days. Sometimes, we discover great content on web but not able to read it due to time constraints. We are so busy at the times that we have to skip the page and do our regular work.

But not to worry my friends, I came across a Web tool to read web contents lately, i.e. Instapaper. I came across this service while surfing the web one day and was stupefied with the ease of use. You can use Instapaper to bookmark sites, blogs or any other items for later reading in just a click of a button. And you can cleaned them up lately too. Let me tell you how Instapaper works:

Signup is very easy – no verification and password required, but you need to use something that you’ll remember in future.

  • Drag the Read later bookmarklet and drop it on you bookmarklet tab.
  • When you find a web content you want to read but stuck with some important work , click on “Read Later” bookmarklet and the web page instantly saved in your Instapaper account.
  • You can easily Edit, Delete or Skip a selection that you have saved in your Instapaper account.

Some other tools and applications of Instapaper :

Instapaper iPhone app

Its an iPhone award winning application to read you saved pages in the mobile-optimized Text view. It is very useful to store your webpages to read even when you are offline.

Google Reader

I know you are gonna say that why use Instapaper instead of Google Reader, but I used Google Reader in the past and found Instapaper easy to use ( I don’t know why ). You can directly send the items from your Google Reader to Instapaper by just clicking the “Read Later” bookmarklet. This also works for iPhone Google Reader Site.

This even works on the mobile, iPhone-friendly Google Reader site. Instapaper is also an option in the “Send to” menu.

So now you don’t have to forget or skim through the pages you like to read. Just save it in Instapaper and enjoyed it lately.

Wow. Really nice find buddy. I’ve used instapaper service few months back. Now I usually subscribe to feed for later reading or save the page for offline reading.

  16. Thanks for the tip. I always find myself blog-hopping and I always get lost in the web because I forget the links. Bookmarking it in my computer always leaves a clutter that I’m not comfortable with. I’m so happy it works on Kindle. Do you have an idea how this works on the newest Kindle?

  17. This will be a great tool for me since I skim a lot of articles during the day, save the URLs to Notepad so I can come back to them at the end of the day for a closer look. I think this will save me time.

  18. TechChunks says:

Great post Yogesh! Instapaper certainly looks like a much more powerful alternative to simple browser-bookmarking.
