The Vonage Mobile application for Facebook gives you freedom to call your Facebook friends anywhere in the world if they have the same app downloaded in their iPhone or Android. The best part of this mobile app is you don’t have to dial the number or remember a separate screen name.
This application is available for Android phones in 48 countries and in 87 countries for iPhone or iPod Touch. Soon, the application will be available for iPad too. This app is available in iTunes store and Android Market for free download and you can also download this application from Vonage Facebook fan page. Right now, Vonage mobile app works over WI-FI and 3G/4G networks in most countries.
Let’s see how it works :
After downloading this app, you have to enter your Facebook ID and password for the first time.
The software then automatically loads the user’s Facebook contacts and groups them according to who they might call for free. It means it filters the Facebook into two groups. One with friends who downloaded Vonage mobile app and you can call them for free. Other group shows Facebook friends who are available for instant messaging.
Just, touch the friend’s name from the Call Free list and your free call is connected. When you place a call, the friend’s profile picture and status update displayed on the screen. If you close the application, the phone still rings for the incoming call.
You can also invite your friends to download mobile application direct from the Vonage Facebook fan page.

I think this is a pretty cool application for Facebook users who don’t want to share their phone numbers but still want to connect through voice call. Even it is an easy and cheap way to reach you international friends.

that is so ridiculous. If this were more widespread than it could take a lot of money away from certain phone companies. I believe that eventually we can all have phone plans just off data plan.

possibly the best VOIP option available for Android IMO, since Google Voice is US only and Facebook is ubiquitous amongst my friends around the world who I want to call… only problem is that it is quite a heavy drain on battery – hopefully the devs will fix this (and other bugs) in future versions… I’ll be watching.

There are lots of application available in the market but according to me Whistle is the best one available for free with great voice quality.
Really? Because from what i have heard the quality isnt half that good.
This is cool and genius! It seems similar to Google voice, using the internet or data package to hold phone calls. Does this let use keep your same number or do you need to get one from them? Either way its cool and genius, no more loosing contacts, all you need is Facebook!
