Bumptop: First on Windows, now on Mac

In our previous post on Bumptop we have notified about the Mac version of Bumptop which was about to come. And here is the good news for Mac lovers. The Bumptop for Mac is out and pretty much like what was expected.

It really is a reinvention for the Mac Desktop.

Some Features

1. Toss Stuff: Tossing things from your desktop is a really fun element which has made the interface highly customizable. The physics applied in that is awesome. The speed from which you drag things and its positioning is really been a great feature.

2. Grow & Shrink: We can use the organic approach by right click on any icon and you will get options for growing it and shrinking it. If you have a Pro version of Bumptop then you can have the multi-touch track-pad at your services. Grow, stack, shrink are some of the features that can make the experience more interactive and lively.

3. Hiding on Walls: Do you have stuff that you want to hide from someone.. if yes then Bumptop has a really nice feature which can make you folders files to stick on a wall which is not visible normally on desktop. While using this feature you will feel like you are sticking your file/folders to a wall in real sense.

4. Circling Object: Make a circle which contain files and folders and you can pile then one onto another. It looks like real workspace where you grab all papers and small bits with both hands and make them put one thing on another.

I really like the concept! It works like a charm, and if I show this to my parents, e.g. they will LOVE it. As it’s like they think file/desktop management should be on a computer..but imagine something breaks in the apps preferences or cache or whatever. basically everything just sits there in /Users/XY/Desktop… unsorted, this would be an insane mess.

If this can be implemented with finder/folder structure then it would be the best option for revamping the Mac.

One of the phrases I found on youtube comments “I don’t know about you guys but i tend to be more productive when i have less shit cluttering up my desktop. I need to get off my ass and file that shit somewhere instead of finding a way to make it look like a lazy slob co-workers desk. Why stop there and let us add unwatered plants and thinkgeek toys to the desktop” by mantrakid

So I guess the Bumptop has given us option but it might not be the ultimate tool that is needed. Have you tried it yet? Please do share your views with us.
