jQuery is a lightweight, cross-browser compliant, and extremely powerful JavaScript framework. jQuery enables you to add interactivity and increased functionality to your website. jQuery is much useful because it can help you to create animations and interactions.
As jQuery is not only a easy javascript language to work with but also very easy to use for non-developers too specially when it combines with plugins.
In this article, I have compiled a list of 20 of the best jQuery plugins of April 2010 which are really very useful and I am sure will come handy in your future web project.

1) 3D Cloud Carousel : This is a fast and cross-browser implementation of a 3d carousel – looks very nice, more like a Flash implementation. It can create dynamic reflections underneath the carousel items, is accessible and degrades nicely without JavaScript. Easy to use as an unobtrusive plugin with lots of options.

2) bMap : This plugin allows you to quickly and easily add mapping to your website. It has been designed from the beginning to handle lots of markers, lots of layers, and custom marker icons. The internal Google object is exposed, so you can continue to use all of the power of the Google Maps API. You can also access the internals of the bMap object.
3) SimpleModal : SimpleModal is a lightweight jQuery Plugin which provides a powerful interface for modal dialog development. Think of it as a modal dialog framework. SimpleModal gives you the flexibility to build whatever you can envision, while shielding you from related cross-browser issues inherent with UI development.
4) jQuery Path Selector : Path selector is a breadcrumb bar jquery plugin for selection of hierarchic options (similar to address bar of Vista’s Windows Explorer).

5) jqChromelessYoutube : This plugin embeds the Chromeless Youtube player on an element and plays videos from a Youtube playlist continuously. You can adjust the player’s size, the playlist ID, show/hide title,controls and playlist by passing parameters to the plugin.

6) Navit : Nav it is a great plugin which converts html lists into navigation. It has many options which include horizontal navigation, vertical navigation, accordion style systems, drop down menu systems and more.

7) Lens Flare : Far from being limited to Photoshop filters, video games and film CGI effects, a basic implementation of lens flares can work quite well in JavaScript too. This jQuery plugin allows you to add a lens flare effect to images.
8 ) jDoubleSelect : jDoubleSelect is a jQuery plugin to transform one select with optgroups into two selects, the first one with all groups and the second updated with the options of the group selected.
9) jQuery – UI - Mac OS – Growl Plugin : A plugin for jQuery UI to show Mac OS type Growls (Notifications). It simply shows a jQuery UI dialog in the bottom right corner and dissapears with a custom effect. Every seperate growl piles on top of others. Scrolling the page scrolls the growls along as well.

16) jQuery Infinite Scroller : jQuery Infinite Scroller lazy-loads more and more articles from a location of your choice in order to allow infinite scrolling of a content list. 18) Halal IT Uplift jQuery Plugin : This is a rocking plugin which lifts the last element of a parent element to top and slowly takes other elements down.
19) Easy List Splitter Plugin : The plugin will get your list, wrap it into a container div, generate as many lists as the number of columns you require and evenly split the list items into the different list elements. If the list items are not enough to evenly fill in all the columns, the plugin will hide the columns in excess (this might happen only if you’re ordering your list items vertically as per default).

20) 3D Feature Image Carousel : This plugin rotates images in a three dimensional (simulated) carousel. Optionally, all images can have a description element attached to them that pops up on an overlay whenever that image rotates to the center.

I’ve seen the jqChromelessYoutube plugin; I’m working to something like this; my component let you use a youtube movie as background of your HTML page or play it in a chromeless player with a timeline and buffer bar. If you want you can download a pre release at:
